Inspiring excellence; everyone, everyday

Year 1

On this page there will be additional resources, web links and ideas you can use to support your child at home during the school closure or if you are at home isolating waiting for test results. If you find you have to self isolate for 14 days your child will have a home learning pack delivered to your house which should be used in addition to the resources outlined below.

In your planner (home school book) you can also explore

P92 - recommended reads

P95 - random acts of kindness

P98 - Y1/2 key words - practice reading or spelling some of these. Perhaps also revise some of the Reception key words

P100 - sounds - how many do you know?

P106 - number bonds - how many can you remember?

P149 - nature hunt

P150 - leaf hunt

P151 - map of the United Kingdom - can you name the countries?

P153 - baby animals

Want to support your child with their phonics even further?

As a school we use a phonics programme called Sounds Write. Click on the link below to take you to additional ideas and materials that Sounds Write have produced.

E books

As we are currently unable to change your child's reading books, why not look at the e - books on Oxford Owl? All of the books can be decoded using phonics and many of them are ones we use in school.
